Jelly Bean rolling out to DROID RAZR M "in stages"

Jelly Bean rolling out to DROID RAZR M In a move that signals a much quicker pace of updates, Google subsidiary Motorola sent out a tweet today official announced Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the DROID RAZR M. Initially the update will be sent out to “soak testers” and if no major problems are encountered it will continue to roll out to other RAZR M owners in subsequent waves. The update comes less than two months after the RAZR M shipped, which must be a relief to owners considering the unusually long wait that Gingerbread-based phones saw before they were upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich.

It’s unclear whether the speed of the update is due to the influence of Google (which owns Motorola), the lighter OEM skin which borders on being vanilla Android, or the inherent structural similarities between Android 4.0 and 4.1. Quite possible it’s a bit of all three. Regardless, if you own one of Verizon’s newest DROID devices you can expect some Jelly Bean goodness to be headed your way soon.

Of course it isn’t a Nexus device, so you can expect some new bloatware; in this case the headliner is ISIS, the digital wallet that Verizon backs. If you wanted to use Google Wallet you’re out of luck for now.
