The Nexus 4 shipped with hidden 4G LTE support but runs on HSPA and HSPA+ networks in the United States. Some tinkerers over at XDADevelopers, however, have managed to get the phone up and running on Telus and Rogers using LTE LTE Band 4. The phone is automatically set to prefer WCDMA networks but, if you open the phone’s settings following the instructions in the video above, you can change the phone’s settings to seek out LTE networks. For now, it works on the 1700 and 2100Mhz bands used by the aforementioned Canadian carriers. For a detailed explanation on why certain LTE bands aren’t supported in the U.S., head over to Anandtech, which took a deep dive into the topic last week.
