Two crystals were protecting the country until one was shattered to
pieces when the monsters invaded. The ancient summon beasts, however,
can restore the crystals' original power, but only if a worthy hero
stands before them. That, in a nutshell, is the story in Final Fantasy
Airborne Brigade – an RPG that gamers in Japan and South Korea are
already enjoying.
But what about folks across
the ocean? Are they going to get some Final Fantasy love too? Yes, as it
turns out, because Final Fantasy Airborne Brigade is coming to iOS and
Android. As is tradition with FF games, the player will be sent on a
quest, laying waste to enemies and looting treasure chests along the
way. However, the new game has a stronger focus on social interaction.
Also, players will be given airships to travel with, which is an
interesting twist to the RPG's game mechanics.
Unlike Final Fantasy III,
which costs $16 dollars to download from the Google Play store,
Airborne Brigade will be free to play, although there surely will be
some kind of in-app purchases. There are no details yet as to when
exactly the new Final Fantasy game will be released for U.S. gamers, but
those who are interested can visit its official web site and subscribe
for news and updates.
