Best new games for iPhone, iPad and Android for October 2012

Wow, time flies by, and October is already in the history. We’d remember it for some awesome games launching and others promised to come soon.

We finally saw Need For Speed: Most Wanted make its debut, and the NBA season kicked off bringing us the NBA 2K13 app to take control over King LeBron, Kobe and Durant among others.

But that’s not all - we have a ton of fun new games we cherry picked in the ocean of new launches this month. 2. Need For Speed: Most Wanted - Android, iOS - $6.99

Need For Speed is a racing game that needs no introduction and in Most Wanted you are in a constant chase with the police. The game has jaw-dropping graphics with some of the juiciest cars you can imagine - SRT Viper GTS, Porsche 911 Carrera S, Hummer H1 Alpha, and others.

3. NBA 2K13 - Android, iOS - $4.99

The NBA season has just kicked off and it’s the right time to check out NBA 2K13. The game uses the NBA 2K engine, adding one-finger controls and even better graphics. Of course, the latest rosters are there to keep you involved. And hey, you can always take over LeBron, Kobe or Durant for some fun dunks.

You are probably used to seeing the blue hedgehog Sonic run in horizontal levels, but here the action is all vertical. Sonic Jump is as straightforward as it sounds - the cute porcupine jumps high to collect gold coins.

Easily one of the best soccer games out there. You build real-time tactics with passes, runs and just about everything to score that goal.

8. Rope Rescue - Android, iOS - $2.99

Rope Rescue is a curious little puzzler where you have to rescue the feathered buddies of the parrot Rupert. You’d have to drag that rope through all sorts of gears to figure out the right combination.

9. Zaxxon Escape - Android, iOS - $0.99

Zaxxon Escape is a remake of a classic, and a great one. The mission is to flee Zaxxon’s asteroid city and the fortress of tight corridors. It is pretty fun and engaging with tilt controls on your mobile device.

10. Chaos Rings - Android, iOS - $12.99

Chaos Rings is a game by Square Enix, the same folks that bring you Final Fantasy, and that means high quality. It’s a huge new RPG with four scenarios, but most importantly graphics that would knock your hat off and an engaging story. What’s more to want? Yeah, a cheaper price would have been nice, but the game is worth if you are a fan of the genre.
