Verizon to start offering carrier billing for Google Play content in a few weeks

So, it turns out that the rumor was on the right track. Very soon, Verizon will be offering carrier billing for the purchase of Google Play content, be it games, apps, music, or whatever you can think of. The announcement came in the form of a tweet stating that the feature will be rolling out "over the coming weeks."

Verizon is actually the last major U.S. carrier to enable carrier billing for its customers who wish to buy stuff from Google Play without using a credit card. AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile have been offering the feature for months, allowing their users to add charges for apps, games, or media straight to their monthly bill.

Unfortunately, we don't have any details yet as to how carrier billing will work on Verizon. There will probably be a spending limit of some sort, judging by what recent leaks have revealed, yet what that will be isn't yet clear.

Nevertheless, as the feature will go live in just a few weeks, it won't be long until Verizon gives us all the specifics.
