Stricter quality control may lead iPhone 5 production to slow down

That the aluminum body of the iPhone 5 is fairly easy to scratch is something that we already know. Even a child can do it without much effort! But when you open up the box only to find an iPhone 5 inside with a nasty dent on its side, that's a whole different story. A number of owners have reported finding imperfections on their units, despite never dropping or misusing them in any way.

Stricter quality control may lead iPhone 5 production to slow downApparently, Apple has taken note of the situation and is addressing the issue seriously. Bloomberg reports that quality control at Foxconn factories where the smartphone is being assembled will be taken up a notch. As a result, metal iPhone 5 frames with nicks and dents should end up being used in the assembly process.

Unfortunately, the stricter quality control will surely lead to a slowdown in iPhone 5 production. And that isn't a good thing, especially considering how high demand for Apple's newest smartphone is. But when you think about it, it is probably better for Apple to ensure its customers are getting a flawless iPhone 5 out of the box, instead of having to deal with returns and sending out replacement units. Don't you agree?
