Earlier this month, the water-resistant Sony Xperia Tablet S
was discovered to have a manufacturing mistake that left a gap between the display and the back of the unit that could allow water or other liquids to enter the tablet's innards. As a result, Sony halted sales of the tablet
after 100,000 had already had been shipped. Sony said it would repair all of the defective tablets for free and is offering a free inspection for those who had purchased the device before the sales halt. Now, the good news is that the first tablet to wear the Xperia brand will resume sales in the middle of November. The Sony Xperia Tablet S launched in the U.S. on September 7th with subsequent releases in Europe, Japan and other locations. The Sony online store in the U.S. lists the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models of the Sony Xperia Tablet S as "Coming Soon" and is taking e-mail addresses for those interested in being notified when the tablet is available for purchase once again.source: XPERIABlog
