With U.S. Cellular launching its version of the Samsung GALAXY Note II on Friday, tomorrow will be the last day to pre-order the device from the regional carrier. The device has been priced at $299.99 with a signed two-year contract. The specs for the phablet have been discussed a number of times and as impressive as they are, there are some other interesting features that have created quite a buzz around the device. We've already shown you the multiwindow feature which divides the screen in two so that users can run a couple of applications at the same time.
Air View is a cool feature on the phablet. By taking the S Pen and hovering just above a link, you will see previews of a video or email. The Best Face editing system allows you to choose from 8 different shots so that you can pick the one that came out the best for each subject in the picture. Select from the different shots and the GALAXY Note II mashes them together into one perfect picture. And don't forget the RGB matrix on the display which means that the screen does not use the controversial pentile display that is even used on the Samsung Galaxy S III.
The only thing that keeps this from becoming the best Android phone ever made is the size. With a 5.5 inch screen, this device is certainly not for everybody and those who favor one-hand operation of their phone, or like to keep it pocketable, are going to have a hard time with the phablet. But if you can handle all that and you're a U.S. Cellular customer, better pre-order tomorrow (online only!) or else you will have to hope you can find one in the store.
And if 5.5 inches is not enough for your phone, there are a couple of rumored 6 inchers coming including the Sony C660X Yuga and the Huawei Ascend Mate.
