The Samsung Galaxy Note II is one of the most impressive droids out there and judging by our mailbox everyone was interested to know more about its its battery performance. Well, we are finally done with the tests, and we are now ready to share the results with you. The tests took a while to complete, for reasons you’ll see shortly.
The Galaxy Note II has a beefy 3100mAh battery – 1000mAh more than the battery in the Galaxy S III, but 200mAh less than Motorola’s RAZR MAXX battery. And there’s a large AMOLED screen and a quad-core processor to feed.
While the Samsung Galaxy Note II is not the most conventional smartphone, it has full phone functionality and will let you talk longer than almost any other phone – at nearly 17 hours, it comes second only to the RAZR MAXX and beats the official numbers by an hour. Keep in mind that we run the test in 3G mode and Samsung is promising the mind-blowing 35 hours of talk time in 2G.

The web browser will probably be one of the most used apps on the Galaxy Note II and while AMOLED screens are not the most efficient at displaying web pages, the Samsung phoneblet lasted nearly 9 hours, coming within 20 minutes of the Motorola RAZR MAXX (which has a smaller screen and bigger battery). Judging by the Galaxy S III results, the Jelly Bean platform has certainly played an important role here.

Then there’s video playback – the video player on the Samsung Galaxy Note II is hands down one of the very best we’ve seen, playing every file we threw at it. Also, the 5.5″ 720p screen with deep blacks and great colors is excellent for video watching. The Note II went from 100% charge to 10% in about 11 and a half hours, once again putting it only behind the RAZR MAXX.

The endurance rating of the Samsung Galaxy Note II came out as 73 hours or just over three full days. This is how long you can go without charging the device assuming your usage is an hour of calling on a 3G network, browsing the web for another hour then watching an hour of video each day.
That’s certainly one of the most impressive scores we have seen and it proves that the Samsung Galaxy Note II is not only an extremely capable droid, but also one that be with you for a long time, before it makes you run for a charger
