Samsung Galaxy Camera arriving first on AT&T, will support HSPA+

Samsung Galaxy Camera arriving first on AT&T, will support HSPA+The Samsung Galaxy Camera is a 16-megapixel point and shoot and while that doesn’t sound terribly exciting on its own, adding Android on top of that and a 21x zoom lens definitely makes this pocket camera unique. Now, AT&T has confirmed it is getting the Galaxy Camera, the first point and shoot with Android on board, and the device will support the carrier’s HSPA+ network, but not LTE.

Having a camera with cellular connectivity and Android would allow you to easily and automatically (if you wish) share your pictures on the web, and we imagine journalists will be among the first to use this.

And if you don’t care about the slightly bulky body, you can use the Samsung Galaxy Camera as an Android player.

The Galaxy Camera features a 16-megapixel back-side illuminated CMOS sensor and 21x zoom lens, a 4.8-inch HD Super Clear LCD screen, and runs on a 1GHz quad-core processor.

AT&T hasn’t yet revealed the price and exact release date, but this should become clear in the next few weeks.
