The other day, a DLNA certification tipped us again to the GT-N5100, said to be anew Samsung GALAXY Note tablet. The first time we had seen that model number was for a Wi-Fi certification. While the size of the tablet's screen is unknown, the thinking is that there could be a 7.7 inch screen on the slate in order to compete with the 7.9 inch screen on the Apple iPad mini.
Regardless of the size of the screen, a User Agent Profile revealed that the resolution of the screen will be 1280 x 800 which is the resolution of the 7 inch display on the Google Nexus 7. More speculation has the mystery tablet packing the same quad-core 1.4GHz processor that powers the Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 tablet. And yes, the S Pen is expected to be along for the ride. At this stage in the game, there is no excuse for not having Android 4.1 installed.
Samsung hopes to compete with the full-sized Apple iPad models with the Google Nexus 10 which was introduced on Monday with an incredible 2560 x 1600 10 inch screen packing pixel density of 299ppi. The GT-N5100, as we said, could be aimed squarely at the Apple iPad mini and considering that the latter has just launched, and with the holiday shopping season staring us squarely in the face, we wouldn't expect the Korean based manufacturer to wait too long to let the cat out of the bag on this one!
