Asus has posted its financials for the third quarter of the year and quite surprisingly outperformed its rivals riding the success wave of the Nexus 7 tablet and the popularity of its Transformer Android tablet series.
Not just that, Asus had a strong quarter beating market analysts’ expectations. The company’s net profit stood at around $229 million (NT$6.71 billion), on revenue of around $3.81 billion (NT$111.4 billion).
Asus now expects growth to continue throughout the Holiday quarter with tablet shipments reaching 2.6 million units. In addition, analysts pointed out that Asus has some of the most competitive Windows 8 tablets, so it should be one of the companies to actually gain some money off of the nascent platform.
Asus has recently made its first strides into the U.S. carrier market by signing a deal with AT&T to sell its Windows 8 Vivo Tab RT tablet.
