We are already waiting with baited breath for the introduction of the Asus Padfone 2 on October 16th
. The early indications are that this is going to be quite a powerful device. If you recall, the Asus Pasfone 2 scored an impressive 13,950 on the AnTuTu benchmark site, surpassing the Samsung GALAXY Note II
by 450 points. That could mean that the phone will feature the quad-core Qualcomm S4 quad-core APQ8064 under the hood with an Adreno 320 GPU crunching the graphics and Android 4.1 installed. One thing we do know, is that thanks to the approval from the Global Certification Forum, the Asus Padfone 2
has European, Asian and Latin American LTE connectivity on bands 3, 7 and 20. We expect to see GCF approval for U.S. LTE bands shortly. The concept of the Asus Padfone is simple. The Padfone can be used on its own, or plugged into a dockwhich turns it into a tablet. The tablet can then be plugged into a QWERTY keyboard dock to turn it into a laptop computer. Asus plans on announcing the Asus Padfone 2 a week from Tuesday in both Milan, Italy and Taipei, Taiwan.
