Apple’s New iMac Reportedly Coming Soon with Thinner, Redesigned Body

Apple is allegedly set to introduce a new iMac all-in-one desktop computer sometime this month or next, and a new report suggests that the computer will offer a completely redesigned body that’s thinner than ever before. According to a thread from the forums on WeiPhone, which recently leaked an image of the internal hardware, the new iMac will be so thin that it will be tough to “see the iMac’s thickness.”

Apple will allegedly launch a redesigned 21-inch iMac first and will follow that with a new 27-inch model. It’s unclear exactly what the new hardware internals will include, aside from a display that has the LCD glued directly to it, although we’re guessing the system will pack Intel’s latest quad-core chips, solid state drives, improved graphics and more. The image above, according toMacRumors, shows the area where the iMac houses a Wi-Fi radio, the aluminum shell of the computer, the hard drive and an exhaust fan.

It’s possible that we’ll hear more about the new iMac during Apple’s iPad mini event, when the company is also expected to introduce a new 13-inch MacBook Pro with a Retina display.
