
After accepting millions of pre-orders, Apple is releasing its latest and greatest smartphone through retailers, so you can also grab one from your local Apple store. Folks in Japan and Australia have already purchased theirs, thus gaining bragging rights for being among the first people to own an iPhone 5. Alternatively, the iPhone 5 can be purchased online, in case don't feel like going out. However, be prepared for a lengthy wait as the parcel will ship in three to four weeks if ordered today, due to the huge demand Apple has to cope with.
Pricing is set as usual: $199 and a 2-year contract can get you a 16GB iPhone 5, in either black or white, with a data plan from AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint. For $299 or $399, one can get an iPhone 5 with 32 or 64 gigabytes of storage respectively.
After the initial rollout, Apple will release the iPhone 5 in 22 additional markets: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
